ARTIST STATEMENT

Geofuture imagines the city as an ecological field rather than a territory designed solely for human use. Commissioned by Dassault Systèmes for its Urban Renaissance campaign, the project responds to the question of how future cities might be conceived amid accelerating environmental, technological, and social change.

Projected onto Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul, designed by Zaha Hadid, the work moves from the scale of the planet to that of the built environment, and from static structures to forms of life. Architectural surfaces become sites of transformation, opening into biodiverse landscapes and speculative encounters between human, non-human, and digital entities. The project draws on the idea of the virtual twin not as a tool for control alone, but as a means of seeing the complex relationships that shape urban life.

The title Geofuture deliberately shifts the emphasis away from the city as a human-centred object. It proposes a future in which technology supports more attentive forms of coexistence. By turning a landmark building into a public screen for this proposition, the work invites audiences to reconsider what progress could mean when life, rather than expansion, becomes the measure.
